The advertisement catchphrase 'On Sunday, I am the chef for Chapaghetti' made Chapaghetti the Sunday lunch menu. Similar instant chajang noodles came and disappeared again and again. 


However, Chapaghetti has been popular for 30 years from its release ranking in the Top 10 in the market for ramyun. 


[History of Nongshim Chajang Ramyun]

In February 1970, Nongshim made the first instant Chajang noodles in Korea and continued to develop new Chajang noodles, followed by 'Samsun Chajang Noodles' in 1978, 'Nongshim Chajang Noodles' in 1983 and 'Chapaghetti' in 1984 and 'Sausage Chajang noodles (1990)', 'YeonChajang(1991)' ,'Sichaun Chapaghetti(2004)' and other Chajang noodles.

Fried Noodle

Fried noodle is made by steaming and then frying in oil. Steamed noodle is fried in oil heated up to 150˚C to lower the moisture content below 10% where no microbe can propagate. Nongshim controls the moisture of fried noodle below 7% for the longer shelf life without preservative. In the process, steamed noodle further becomes easy to cook and gets the unique flavor of ramyun.

Features of Product

Chapaghetti was released in 1984 as ramyun-style chajang noodles. The TV advertisement and CM song 'On Sunday, I am the chef for Chapaghetti became a great hit loved by the nation.


The noodles are thick, smooth and chewy. Chajang soup made of chunjang and onion is delicious and offers the thick flavor of the original Chajang. Plentiful flakes of carrot, onion and meat and premium olive oil arouse the appetite. 


The product is great for eating when you don’t feel like eating!

Basic Recipe for Product

1. Put noodles and vegetable soup into the boiling water (600ml) 

2. Simmer for 5 minutes.

3. Remove from the heat and leave 6~7 spoons of water 

4. Add soup base and vegetable oil and stir well and serve

3. Remove from the heat and drain water except for 8 table spoons

4. Add soup base and oil seasoning

Basic Recipe for Product

1. Open the lid up to the arrow mark and take out powder and oil soup. 

2. Pour boiling water (450ml) up to the inside line

3. Close the lid and steam noodles for 4 minutes

4. Punch holes at "+" on the lid with chopsticks and drain water except for 7 table spoons (50ml)

5. Add powder and oil soup base and stir well.
